little metal book

Hi friends,

I've been making these little metal books for the last 6 months or so.  I love them so.  It's one of those things where it becomes hard to let go of things that you make.  I made several for the Peace Market and they sold instantly. I made a few more as special orders for Christmas presents.  This one I just couldn't let go.  They are small- about 2" x 3" of copper, solder, resin, and watercolor paper goodness.  .  I'm about to make a new batch of them.

It's spring break for the kiddos and I.  It has been raining steady for the last few days (a rather rare occasion in south Texas).  Perfect for getting over my illness but not so good for wanting to get out and play for the break.  I need to work and get stuff done around the house but I also really really need a break.  We are going to go stare at the waves at the beach for a few days.  Every part of me longs to do nothing at all, at least for a little while.  I feel my busy schedule taking a toll on my sanity.  So, staring at the sea wins.

Hopefully all of this rain helps my little garden grow big.  The kids accidently let the chickens in over the weekend and they had a hay day digging up the dirt, eating tiny beets, and generally making havoc over the whole area.  It made me want to cry.  The downside of being a gardener.  Hopefully some of it will come back.  If not, there's always more seeds...
