You may have noticed that I haven't posted much lately. I wanted to check in with you all and tell you what's going on in my world. This year for me has been about change, adapting, and finding myself all over again as I turned 40. I've always tried to embrace the fact that change is inevitable and essentially what life's all about, but some change is easier than others. I was already thinking towards the future and making changes, but when Stamp Antonio closed it affected me more than I wanted it to. Although I love to teach I began to wonder if I was on the wrong path, for one thing I no longer had a local place to teach. There have been other changes too- hubby graduated and started a new job, family health has been an issue...all adding to chaotic feelings. I also went back to school. For a while (entirely too long for me!) it was up in the air what I was going back to school for. Programs and requirements kept changing but now I'm on the path to (eventually) earning a Master's Degree in Art Therapy. Right now I have to go back and take courses that were not required when I was in school many moons ago. I'm taking a full load this semester including science and math which is proving to be quite challenging (who makes artists take PHYSICS???).
I haven't been participating in the Paper Wing's blog hops or doing much posting at all lately. I'm leaving all of that up the the uber creative design team. I'm still around though, working in the background and coming up with new ideas and possibilities for Paper Wings. I truly appreciate the support and encouragement from of those of you who shop and order Paper Wings products. It's you that have kept me going this year. You keep me inspired and driven. You all mean more to me than you could possibly know.
I have also now found a new local place to call home. I was contacted by the incredible ladies who own Roadhouse Arts about becoming part of their teaching staff. Roadhouse Arts is in Bulverde, a short drive north of San Antonio. They offer amazing workshops and even bring in nationally known artists. My first workshops are coming up October 10-11. In 2015 I will be teaching quarterly. The workshops offered at Roadhouse Arts are a full day experience. The full day workshops all you to become fully immersed in the techniques and will allow us to fully appreciate and embrace the learning process.
