Here's my project for this month.  I made a tag using the new Bird Beauty set from Paper Wings Productions.

This tag features a bit of masking.  You create a "mask" in order to create depth in stamping, like when you want an image to be behind another.  I first created the background of the tag, then I stamped the bird image and border stamp and colored using markers and watercolors.

I created a mask by stamping the image on thin white paper, cutting it out and laying it on top of the image that is stamped on the tag.

Once the mask is in place I inked and stamped the Sunburst stamp.  I inked the stamp with Gelatos.  It might be hard to see (because my stamps are all so dirty!  This should prove how awesome the Paper Wings stamps are because they live up to the TORTURE I put them through!!) but I only inked a small circle in the middle of the stamp with a blue Gelato.

I used my finger to spread out the Gelato from the center out,

Then, I lightly misted the stamp with water and stamped it over the masked image.

Now, remove the mask to reveal the protected image.

I filled in the background with some circles from the Big Backgrounds set using the Gelatos, added the saying and Viola- done!

Okay, it's time to send you off to your next stop so head on over to Dana's blog next.

Paper Wings Productions and Creative Embellishments

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

Here's a tag I made for the June challenge over on the Paper Wings Productions blog.  The chipboard is from Creative Embellishments.

This tag is one of 5 that I will be doing in a class at Scrapbooks N More in New Braunfels on June 28th.  The class will be using Faber Castell products along with Paper Wings Productions stamps.  Paper Wings Productions will also be hosting a free make & take at Scrapbooks N More on the same day.  We hope all of our central and south Texas friends will come out and see us!  Call the store at (830) 214-1690 to sign up.
