January Hop with Paper Wings Productions

Friday, January 3, 2014

WELCOME to the Paper Wing Productions Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway!  If you've arrived here from Norma's blog, then you're in the right place.  If you're just stopping by for a visit, please CLICK HERE to start from the beginning.

We have come up with a fun challenge for 2014.  Each month our designers will be given a challenge of creating their projects using a certain color scheme.  This month our theme is White.  It will be so much fun to see how each designer interprets the color.  Go grab your favorite snack, get comfortable and enjoy the hop.

The main prize is a $25.00 gift certificate to the Paper Wings Productions online store.

For a chance to win all you need to do is:
  • be a follower of the Paper Wings Productions blog
  • visit each of the participating designer's blogs and leave a comment
  • come back and leave us a comment on the pwp blog telling us you completed the hop.
To increase your chances of winning: like our Facebook page and/or invite your friends to the hop.  Be sure to leave a separate comment for each of your additional entries. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014 on the Paper Wings Productions blog.

Ok, now that we have the details out of the way I want to share my project with you.  I really needed some "play" time.  I rarely get to make something just because and sadly I haven't worked in my art journal in a long, long time.  I got myself a little Christmas present- the smaller size of the Dylusions Creative Journal.  So my "WHITE" project for you this month, the first of the new year, is the first page of my new art journal.

I had a loose idea of what I wanted to do.  It deviated from the original plan (doesn't it always?), but I had lots of fun creating it.  I tried hard not to over think it and just keep going with it.

The little rectangles are a mix of the *brand new* domino sized stamps from Paper Wings Productions.  They are stamped on manila cardstock with brown StazOn.  The clip art images are from the new domino sized clip art sheets from Paper Wings Productions.  I used my favorite Sticky Back Canvas Transfer Technique on them.

There is layer upon layer of gesso, Malted Milk Paint Dabber, Dylusions White Spray, Silver Shimmer spray and anything else within arm's length from me that looked kind of neutral.

I adhered everything very loosely, letting the edges purposefully hang off the page.  I doodled a lot with a pencil and white UniBall pen.

So there you have it.  Thanks for joining me today and letting me share some art journaling with you.  Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Make sure to head on over to Amber's Blog Next!!

  5. Lovely journal pages, Carrie. All the loose layers are striking also. I did the same, and got myself one of the smaller journals, but have only decorated one set of pages in it. I need to get back to my art journal, too! I love the new stamps and kit, and will be sending in an order shortly.
