Mica tiles easily delaminate and can be re-adhered with adhesives or various hardware components. Every mica tile is distinctly different from one another and packages contain several different sizes and colorations. Tear, die-cut, or trim with scissors, heat resistant Mica tiles can be embossed, stamped, painted, collaged, used as photo transfer canvas, and adhered to virtually any surface.
Basic supply list for this series: Collage images, adhesive, scissors, favorite embellishments, an assortment of favorite inks from your collection.

Upcoming Events

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Hi there!

I am working on setting my schedule for the rest of the year (that sounds so crazy to say!).  I will post my December dates as soon as I get them confirmed.

As many of you know, I have been offering some workshops on a monthly basis.  I have been doing Art Journal Club and Bookbinding every month for the past 2 and a half years.  I am feeling the need to mix things up a bit, possibly offer an evolution of these workshops.  With that being said, November will be the last month for Art Journal Club in it's current format.  I am planning on offering Art Journaling in a different manner in the new year.  If you are interested in continuing on the Art Journaling journey, "like" this new Facebook page.

I have some holiday classes lined up for December and January will bring a whole new bunch of workshops.  I would LOVE to hear from you about my workshops.  What have you enjoyed?  What would you like to see me teach?  Got an opinion, please let me know!  You can reach me at carrie@paperwingsproductions.com.

In this technique based workshop series, we create collage pages centered around a new technique every month. These pages are added to an "art journal" as a way to keep your collages organized. This month, come join us and explore the uses of gesso in a collage. Gesso is an important art supply to get your canvas ready for painting. You can buy gesso readymade from any art supply shop. Gesso is very similar to white acrylic paint, only thinner. It dries hard, making the surface more stiff. Gesso prepares (or "primes") the surface for painting, making the surface slightly textured and ready to accept acrylic paint.  We will create a 6"x6" collage in class.
